OnSite colleagues were encouraged to break down barriers and talk about their mental health recently when they participated in activities as part of Time to Talk Day.

Time to Talk Day, which took place at the start of February, is a national campaign run by Mind and Re-think Mental Illness, in partnership with Co-op. The day aims to inspire others to create safe spaces where conversations about mental health can take place without shame or judgement.

To join in with the campaign, colleagues participated in a variety of social activities across several sites in the UK to encourage open conversations between each other. Activities included scheduled drop-in social clubs, fish and chip lunches, management visits to teams and walk and talk sessions in local parks. Colleagues were offered protected time to join in with the activities.

Tom Rochford, head of drainage for OnSite Central commented: “Mental wellbeing is a very important topic and we wanted to give colleagues as much opportunity as possible to join in with Time to Talk Day and have conversations with their peers. The activities were well attended, and I’m delighted that we have since made the walk and talk sessions a weekly activity after such positive feedback about its benefits.”
