OnSite Rail, one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist contracting services, has gained Platipus Earth Anchoring Systems Approved Installer Status. Platipus Anchors provide a sustainable solution to stabilise embankments and allow natural habitats to grow.

In an ever-changing climate, which creates movement, potential landslips, and embankment failures, it is more important than ever to keep these stable.

As an established contractor to the rail industry, OnSite has partnered with Platipus to provide a solution, offering comprehensive design and installation solutions to clients throughout the UK.

With Britain’s historic railway infrastructure dating from the 19th century, Platipus Earth Anchoring Systems is a modern engineering solution that will provide resilience against extreme weather, whilst being rapidly deployable and dependable in the most difficult ground conditions. Its completely dry system has minimal environmental impact and is suitable for use at Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

The Percussion Driven Earth Anchor (PDEA®) is lightweight and corrosion resistant, creates minimal disturbance of the soil during installation, and can be stressed to an exact holding capacity being fully operational immediately. Platipus anchor systems are versatile and have many applications including erosion control, shallow slides, cut face slopes and retaining walls.

James Sargeant, Head of OnSite Rail said:
We are really excited to partner with Platipus, who provide some of the most innovative and cost effective anchoring solutions for use in civil engineering. We were incredibly impressed with the versatility of the product and can see many opportunities to use this product in the projects we are involved in.”
