We are delighted, in association with the training partner, Watertrain, to offer new apprenticeships for 2023. Apprentices who join us will gain valuable experience across our whole business and sister Group companies such as Hydrosave. The apprentices will be graduating with an NVQ L2 NCO water operative qualification.

OnSite Pipelines has a well-established apprenticeship program, with eight current apprentices nearing the end of their apprenticeship with OnSite.

The programme, led by Mick Clarke – head of external operations – enables apprentices to experience working across all areas within OnSite including Pressure testing and chlorination, stores, main laying, barrier support, meter surveys and internal fits, clean water repairs, metering external fits, complex works, working with client customer liaison officers and sister Group company teams.

This allows apprentices to see OnSite’s full breadth, the benefits of working with the company and allows them to focus on particular areas they have an interest in.

Anton Grant, a recent apprentice who is coming to the end of his training, said:

“OnSite offered a lot of training and support throughout my whole apprenticeship. Any problems that I may have been having, not only my colleagues, but my supervisors and managers have been around to support me, and I know where to go should I ever need the support. As for the theory side, twice a month we had a tutor who we would do all our NCO Water Operative Apprenticeship theory with. He helped us in gaining our Level 2 Water network operative qualification. Our tutor covered units such as introductions to the water network, health and safety, customer service, emergency and reactive operations, and preparation, operation and reporting”.

Mick Clark, head of external operations, added:

“Following the ongoing success of our apprenticeship program, we are opening applications for a further eight apprentices to join the business. Our current group have been immersed into the OnSite organisation, attending industry events and training with market-leading businesses like Instamac. This year we have partnered with Sandwell Council.
