It was a cold and grey day but OnSite was pleased to be part of an informal opening ceremony held ahead of the official opening of the A14 Southern Bypass between Huntingdon and Cambridge on 9th December 2019.
The event was planned by the A14 Integrated Delivery Team as a small celebration of the achievements that have been made by all the people, subcontractors and suppliers that have worked to deliver this part of the strategic road network.
As part of the ceremony, a cavalcade of organisations’, suppliers’ and subcontractors’ vehicles was driven through a new section of the carriageway to mark the ‘ceremonial’ opening.
OnSite was highlighted as being an important delivery partner that has contributed to the success of the A14 to date helping the A14 IDT open this new 12-mile bypass to the south of Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire a year earlier than planned.
