OnSite were called on Friday 18th October by Kier/Canal & River Trust to support them with an emergency canal breach in Wigan.

Our teams were mobilised and attended Friday evening to seal the canal bed and then returned the following day to install 2 x PortaDams and deploy an over pump arrangement.

The site has now been left in a safe condition for further works to now proceed.

“May I pass on a huge thankyou from myself, Kier and Canal & River Trust for the effort put in by your teams today to get the Dams installed and overpumping installed.

From the point of Kevin’s instruction yesterday 24 hours later you’ve dewatered the lagoon between and carried out a fish rescue.  A feat that is beyond impressive.

Hope everyone gets some well-deserved sleep, please pass on our gratitude to everyone who put their weekend on hold to assist.”
