We are working with Severn Trent Water as part of their Green Recovery Programme to upgrade water supply pipes for customers in Coventry.

What work are we doing?

We will be replacing privately owned older lead and leaking pipes with industry standard, plastic pipe to ensure an efficient water supply. As part of the scheme, Severn Trent will also be fitting homes with a smart meter to show how much water is used and indicate any problems or leaks.

Who is the scheme for?

The scheme is aimed at residential homeowners or the landlord where it is a rented property in areas CV1 to CV6. Not every property will need upgrades to their pipes as some are newer than others and don’t have lead pipes, and some may have had rehab schemes carried out in the past but we can complete an inspection if you are unsure. This scheme ends March 2025.

What are the benefits of the scheme?

  • Reduce the risks of leaks from older pipes
  • A lead-free water supply
  • Improved water flow
  • Free of charge (normally could cost up to £3,000)

What can I expect?

Our team will arrange to survey the property to find out the information required to plan the work. You will be allocated an installation day where your new pipes and smart meter will be fitted. Once your new pipes have been installed, they will be connected to the water supply before being tested. The old lead pipes will stay in the ground and any holes will be repaired.
